Frequently Asked Questions | Sunrise Dental

Below you will find some of the most commonly asked questions that we hear in our practice. If you have any additional questions or concerns that we have not already answered here, please feel free to contact our team. We would be happy to help.

1Q: Where can I get dental implants in North Carolina?
A: Right here! If you have experienced tooth loss as an adult, a dental implant can be placed into the jawbone where the missing tooth or teeth used to be to help maintain bone mass and prevent a shift in your remaining teeth. The new post will immediately begin to fuse to your jawbone to form a permanent anchor to which a modern-style replacement tooth (such as a dental crown) can be attached. This will boost your appearance and allow you to chew your food more effectively, restoring your health and confidence in the process!
2Q: Is Sunrise Dental a comprehensive dental practice?

4Q: What kind of dental fillings do you use?
A: It used to be that there was only one way to fix a cavity. But in our North Carolina dentist’s office, we can now place metal-free, tooth-colored dental fillings to repair your cavities without leaving any attention-grabbing evidence behind! Contact us now to learn more about our easy and effective restorative dentistry solutions at Sunrise Dental.
5Q: Is it possible to straighten my teeth without metal brackets and wires?
A: Yes! Our North Carolina dentist’s office (with locations in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Durham, and Cary) has an alternative adult orthodontic treatment program that utilizes a series of clear, virtually invisible plastic aligners to correct crooked, crowded or gapped teeth without attracting any unwanted attention. Whether you are interested in Invisalign for your teenager or for yourself, all you have to do is contact us to schedule an orthodontic consultation with Dr. Vice, and we’ll take care of the rest!
6Q: Does Sunrise Dental offer tooth-colored fillings?
A: We do! Our team offers all metal-free composite resin fillings. These fillings are durable and more aesthetically appealing than old amalgam fillings. We will even replace your old, ugly metal fillings if you are having trouble with them. Our fillings are designed to blend right in with your natural smile. If you are looking for a strong, aesthetically pleasing solution to your cavities, we can help. Learn more about our tooth-colored fillings here.
7Q: What is nitrous oxide? Are there other forms of sedation available?
A: Nitrous oxide is a safe, fast-acting gas that is inhaled to create a greater sense of relaxation. We use this type of sedation for nervous patients who need just a little bit of help relaxing. It is also known as laughing gas. We do offer a heavier form of sedation known as oral conscious sedation. This type of sedation is a medication that is ingested orally and creates a much deeper sense of grogginess. To learn more about our sedation options and how they can help relieve your dental anxiety, visit our page here.
8Q: What is the best tooth replacement option?
A: We strongly recommend that you are examined by our highly trained staff to best determine which of our tooth replacement options is right for you. However, if you are looking for a beautiful, reliable way to replace the teeth you have lost, you should certainly consider dental implants. Dental implants are the most realistic, long-lasting replacement option we offer, and they work great for a lot of people. To learn more about dental implants, please visit our page here.
