At Sunrise Dental, we strive to help our patients with gum disease reducing the chances that it can lead to tooth loss! Many Americans over the age of 30 have some form of gum disease, albeit many of them are mild. Gum disease that is left alone creates a slew of problems. We can eliminate the disease-causing bacteria in your mouth, stop bone loss, provide you with healthier gums, and reduce your risk for heart disease, stroke, and other medical conditions.
Gum disease forms when plaque and tartar build-up on the surfaces of your teeth causing your gums to become red and swollen. The sooner you get treated for gum disease, the more you'll set yourself up for continued good oral health. Gum disease treatment includes a variety of different dental procedures including surgical and non-surgical options. Talk to our family dentist today to see what option would be best for you. Our office has the capability to treat gingivitis, periodontitis, and other gum diseases.
We offer a laser-assisted new attachment procedure (LANAP) which is a laser gum therapy that targets and removes diseased tissue. It is a less invasive procedure with faster recovery times around 24 hours instead of 2-4 weeks with traditional gum surgery. LANAP treatment takes roughly an hour, depending on the extent of your gum disease. There is a lower risk of infection after the operation and your gums are less swollen. Contact us today to see if LANAP treatment is right for you.
