Full-Mouth Reconstruction to Save Your Smile
Services in Raleigh, Cary, Durham, and Chapel Hill
We have done several full mouth reconstruction, whether they ground their teeth down to nubs and that happens. We usually give them the option to do ... Sometimes I do both arches. Sometimes I do one arch at a time. I think it's easier on the patient to do one arch at a time if they can tolerate that and sometimes over time if you've really ground your teeth down, then your vertical dimension closes and sometimes you do have to open that bite. It's a matter of crowning everything, pretty much. I have this one lady, she's so cute. She is probably about 88 or 90 now. She had a partial denture and she had a few crowns but everything was kind of all messed up and so I gave her a treatment plan, her daughter was with her, and she was so worried and so nervous and that's probably been 10 years ago. Every time she comes into hygiene she's like smiling from ear to ear. She was so happy we did it after we did it.
It's a lot of work and it's like a day process but it's worth it in the end. It's not something you do just off the cuff. You do it because there are severe problems in the mouth that that would be why you would do it.
