Care for the Whole Family
Your First Visit to Our Office
We understand that you may be curious about what to expect from an initial visit to our office, so we have provided some information on what we do and how these services can help you. When you visit one of our offices for the first time, you will be asked to sign in and fill out our new patient forms. You can find those here. After you are signed in and your forms are completed, the process will vary depending on which doctor and office you are scheduled with. Generally, you will meet with the doctor during your first appointment. After you meet the doctor, you will undergo examinations and have your cleaning done. We will check for all sorts of dental problems such as gum disease, tooth decay, oral cancer, and more. We want to make sure we catch any problems as early as possible. Your first appointment is designed to be simple and will help us get a clear picture of your current situation and allow us to recommend treatment, if necessary.
Preventative Services
Cleanings and exams are a major part of the preventive services we offer to our patients. In addition to offering these services at your initial appointment, we also help you maintain a routine cleaning and exam schedule. This schedule (usually a visit to our office every six months) helps you maintain clean teeth and gums and allows us to detect any possible dental issue as soon as it comes up. We also offer fluoride treatments and varnishes, nutritional counseling, and mouthguards as preventive services. Learn more about these services by visiting our page on general dentistry.
Gum Disease Treatments
Gum disease is often one of the first diagnoses we make. This affliction is very common, affecting many, many patients who come into our office. For very minor cases, a simple cleaning may be all it takes to eradicate the infection. In other more complicated cases, we may need to employ a technique called scaling and root planing. This deep cleaning procedure will help to remove the bacteria from under your gums. To learn more about gum disease and how we treat it, please visit our page here.
