Pause For Your Big Event Dr. Vice recalled recently how Invisalign made a difference for a patient who was getting married. This particular patient had not quite finished her treatment when her wedding day arrived. As part of your Invisalign treatment, patients have white buttons on their teeth. (This helps to keep the aligners in position.) For the wedding and Honeymoon, we were able to remove the buttons. When she returned, we reattached the button, and she completed her treatment. Now, imagine trying that with braces. You would have a hard time convincing your dentist or orthodontist to remove your braces for a few days. In truth, you probably wouldn’t be able to convince him or her to do it. But if you did, somehow, it’s unlikely that you would want to put those braces back on when you returned from your trip.
